This suggested itinerary runs along the eastern coast of Sicily and takes you to visit the most beautiful natural and architectural treasures  of the whole area. You will drive up to the volcano Etna surrounded by vineyards and secular chestnuts, swim into the crystal clear waters of Salina, visit the famous towns of Taormina and Siracusa with their historical city centres and archaeological heritage and discover the beautiful baroque centres of Catania and the province of Ragusa.

Case Perrotta – Sant’Alfio, Etna (2 nights)

Case Perrotta, an historical farm producing prized organic olive oil and cherries, is the perfect place to discover the Etna region with its lush agriculture and forests, his volcanic landscape and taste some of the best wines produced in Sicily. A relaxing and beautiful rural accommodation with an excellent traditional restaurant and very friendly staff.

Suggested activities:

Visit of the historical city centres of Catania and Taormina. Trekking around the Etna. DOC Etna wine  tastings in one of the many wineries of the region. Walk in the very atmospheric villages of the Etna region.

Il Gelso –Salina, Aeolian Islans (3 nights)

Once disembarked in Salina, coming from the harbour of Milazzo, you will immediately understand why this is considered to be the greenest of the Aeolian Islands. Lush nature and vineyards contrast with the dark  volcanic stones and the blue of the sea. Your accommodation, Il Gelso, is a traditional rural house, built  in the typical Aeolian style, in the little village of Malfa. From the terrace of Il gelso you can enjoy a fantastic view of the sea around Salina. An ideal place to relax, swim, walk around the pretty villages and enjoy the fantastic Aeolian cuisine and the local DOC Malvasia wines.

Swimming, snorkelling, diving. Relaxing in the beautiful villages. Boat trips around Salina and to the other islands. Trekking and walking in the countryside to visit the mountains and the vineyards. La Via della Giudecca – Siracusa (3 nights)

Embedded in what in the Middle Age was the Jewish neighbourhood of Ortigia (Siracusa’s oldest part) the B&B La Via della Giudecca is a beautifully renovated old building in the core of one of the best preserved and more fascinating city centres of Sicily. Everything is in Ortigia: beautiful architectures, atmospheric cobbled stone streets, accessible blue sea, excellent restaurants and exciting night life. But Siracusa is also the town of the most important Greek theatre of Sicily which is part of a very interesting archaeological area.
