Listed among the UNESCO natural world heritages and sometimes called the Burgundy of Sicily, Mount Etna is the place where the elegant Etna DOC wines are produced, using the local grape varieties of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante. With its different altitudes, its volcanic soil and its significant differences between day and night-temperatures Mount Etna has always been one of best area in Sicily for the wine production. Each slope of the volcano has a different climate and soil and only the Northern and Eastern slopes are the ones where the oenology gives its best results. During this tour we will visit some of the best wineries and discover why this beautiful area is becoming so important in the wine world.
