Paesaggio Sicilia offers to all wine lovers the possibility to discover the fascinating and complex world of Sicilian wine during two informal lessons and tastings together with Vera, the sommelier of the most famous wine bar in Sicily and a visit to a beautiful organic winery in the Marsala area.

With her overwhelming knowledge and enthusiasm Vera will introduce you to a dynamic and innovative oenology that is enhancing tens of different varietal indigenous grapes and the huge climatic and geological differences to produce wines that go far beyond the twenty-two DOCs and one DOCG of the island.

Vera will tell you about the two most distinctive sectors of the Sicilian wine production: the excellent wines from different volcanic soils and the new trend of organic wines that is becoming a very distinctive aspect of the Sicilian oenology.

Organic farming and respect for the soil and territory are also the basic principles of the beautiful boutique winery Baglio Donna Franca. The owner, a creative and tireless oenologist, is defending the local wine traditions with the use of advanced technology. You will taste his wines while looking at the fantastic landscape of the coast of Marsala.

Traditional western Sicily food specialities, including the typical couscous, are an essential part of this fascinating wine and food experience. Salt pans, windmills, the UNESCO listed centre of Palermo and the amazing medieval rock of Erice will complete this unusual discovery of Sicilian wines.
